How to use a Summon Scroll

A Summon Scroll is a consumable for the Summoning Shrine. It is not a dice, and it does not roll an enchant.
Sportskeeda is the clearest third-party note I trust for the use: the scroll summons an endgame character at the Summoning Shrine. The official Update 5 notes do not define the scroll, but they do move that shrine. I will not guess whether one scroll is one pull. That number is not in the patch notes.
Where the scroll goes
After Update 5, the Summoning Shrine sits in The Hallowkeep, zone 12. The notes say the shrine and the Infinity Trial moved there, and they open after you unlock that zone's Colossus I. If the scroll button does nothing, you are probably not at that shrine yet. The location page covers the door.
Ways a scroll was listed as obtainable
- Code SOULFORGE: lists that still called it working on 12 October paid 1 Enchanted Dice and 1 Summon Scroll.
- Code STORM: older pages paid a scroll too, but Pocket Tactics had expired it. I am not calling STORM working.
- VIP Lucky Block: Update 5 stopped giving characters from it and now lists potions, Enchanted Dice, Summon Scrolls, gems, and a rare skin.

What do summon scrolls do?
They are spent at the Summoning Shrine for an endgame character. I do not have an official rate for which character.
Why can I not use my summon scroll?
The shrine is in Hallowkeep and needs Colossus I there. A scroll in the inventory does nothing in an earlier zone.
